Our Teachers
Geoff Brooks
Delivered with compassion, confidence, humour & wisdom Geoff's yoga classes are a truly unique experience - and are never quite the same, as he seeks to deliver a session the individual, or collective, requires. Essentially Geoff maintains that we are all on our own paths, yet we all have a similar destination & we all have similar vessels (our bodies) in which to take us there. By applying fundamentally universal teachings we can begin to strip away the layers of stress we place upon our bodies... almost any Yoga class or session can get you on the beginnings of that path.
Edmee Leroy
Edmee teaches a wonderful gentle flow bringing compassion and grace to her classes. Edmee is currently on maternity leave but is excited about returning to the studio and bringing her own unique, fun style of teaching to the studio - come along for a guided hatha practice included some long held yin postures to really open your body and lighten your spirit.
Katie Thomson
Katie is a country girl from North West NSW but has spent the last twenty years living throughout the Pacific. She brings her laid back island experience to her yoga practice. Having recently completed her yoga teacher training in Nepal, studying yoga therapy and Ayurveda, Katie is ready to share her journey and love of yoga with the students at Brisbane Yoga Space.
Karen Boaz
Karen first came to the mat four years ago as a way to balance her daily life stresses and fell deeply in love with the ancient practice of yoga. Karen completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training with Byron Yoga Center. She has also attended workshops by Power Living Australia and has just completed the Rainbow Kids Yoga Teacher Training. She’s very excited for her studies to continue and enjoys deepening her knowledge by attending master teacher workshops and yoga festivals all over the country. Karen’s favourite style of yoga is vinyasa and her classes offer students a dynamic flow with variations suitable for all levels.

Jess
Jess first came to yoga in her early twenties as a way to regain physical fitness. It soon became much more as she realised the power of yoga to transform not only your body, but your mind states and emotions. Since then she has been a dedicated student at Brisbane Yoga Space and in 2012 completed her Level I teacher training in power yoga and mindfulness-based practice. Jess has also recently had her first child, gaining first-hand experience in the benefits of a yoga practice pre and post-natal. Now that bub is a little bigger, Jess is excited to be joining the BYS team teaching pre-natal and post-natal yoga.
Amanda
Amanda came to yoga as an antidote to the stressful world of advertising while living and working in London in the late nineties. Her yoga journey has since followed her corporate career from London to Sydney and ultimately to Brisbane, incorporating many styles of practice along the way including Iyengar, Ashtanga and Vinyasa. Amanda has been a regular student at Brisbane Yoga Space since 2007 and recently completed her 200 hour yoga Anusara™ teacher training with Julie Smerdon at Shri Yoga. Amanda’s classes focus on a different heart-oriented theme each week and incorporate the Anusara™principles of alignment to help create spaciousness in the postures.
Georgie
An urban yogini hailing from London, Georgie’s passion for yoga has taken her to various classes, retreats, teacher trainings, workshops and festivals around the world, collecting friends and memories along the way. Georgie is as happy practising dynamic vinyasa flow as she is a more restorative, calming sequence and is grateful to have been welcomed into the warmth of the Brisbane Yoga Space community. An eternal student, she is looking forward to sharing her experiences and learning from others and will be assisting Keren in the weekly ‘Womens’s Only’ classes on Sunday.

Jasmine
Curiosity took Jasmine to her first yoga class in 2006 which was the beginning of a lifelong dedication to the practice and study of yoga. Inspired by the profound effects of a consistent yoga practice, she completed her Radiant Light Yoga in 2011. She teaches a flowing style of yoga asana influenced by 7 years of personal practice and various inspiring teachers – both in Australia and through my travels in Asia. She teaches with honour and respect for the ancient yogic tradition with a modern twist to suit the needs of the Western body, mind and lifestyle. She considers the yoga studio a sacred space for self-discovery; our bodies the temples through which we use movement, breath and awareness to receive the gifts of our practice. Jasmine welcome all students and offers variations, acknowledging the importance of tuning into our body’s needs in any given moment.
"Our amazing teachers come from a variety of styles and traditions and they are all passionate about sharing their love and passion for yoga and it's teachings"
